Information Communication Technology (ICTs) is a broader term for Information Technology (IT), which refers to all communication technologies, including the internet, wireless networks, cell phones, computers, , software, middleware,  video-conferencing, social networking and other media applications and services enabling users to access, retrieve, store, transmit, and manipulate information in a digital form. 

Then: Snail mail was a primary source of communication then, as opposed to today, where it is the primary source of junk mail. I remember having pen pals in elementary school and being incredibly excited about writing letters and buying stamps. While there’s something very romantic about the idea of snail mail, it’s called snail mail for a reason—it’s slow and ultimately, inconvenient.

Now: Today, we use literally anything else but snail mail to communicate with each other. Whether it’s email, text, video chat, fax or instant messaging, we have an arsenal of technologies that allow us to contact each other without having to find a mailbox. Technology has successfully shortened communication from several days to mere minutes.

FLAG CEREMONY 

Back then: Student line up while teachers are ones that facilitates the flag Ceremony in the school. Pupils sang together with the beat. 

Now: Using the sound system and the projector the flag ceremony will be done, together with the instrumental national anthem.

Back then: teachers make hand madr visual aids in reporting or lecturing lessons to their students.

Now: Due to the technologies or the development of the world making presentation is now practiced, instead of visual aids ppt presentation is now practiced. 

Back then: In doing or calculating their student's grades teachers use record book or manual spreadsheet. 

Now: Due to the technologies and new software today teachers now use their computer in grading their students through excel.

Back then: Once the school bell rings thats the cue that the class is dismissed

Now: Students will be given an exact time or schedule of when will the class will end or be dismissed.

Back then: Assignments and research back then are given and checked  in person.

Now: Assignments and research are given online or through elms or google classroom, and to be checked also online.

Defining Multimedia

is the use of a computer to present and combine text, graphics, audio, and video with links and tools that let the user navigate, interact, create, and communicate. This definition contains four components essential to multimedia. First, there must be a computer to coordinate what you see and hear, and to interact with. Second, there must be links that connect the information. Third, there must be navigational tools that let you traverse the web of connected information. Finally, because multimedia is not a spectator sport, there must be ways for you to gather, process, and communicate your own information and ideas. What is a multimedia file?

A multimedia file can be any computer file that plays audio and video, audio only, or video only. Some examples of popular multimedia files include the .mp3 audio file, .mp4, video, and avi video, and wmv files.

What is multimedia software?

A multimedia program, multimedia application, or any multimedia software is software that is capable of playing or recording audio files or playing or recording video files. For example, in our earlier example of a multimedia thesaurus that plays audio of famous speeches, it is considered multimedia software.

What is a multimedia computer?

For a computer to be a multimedia computer, it must meet the MPC standard, which today all computers with a sound card and video card meet.

Importance of multimedia in daily life:

Multimedia has become an enormous strength in today’s world of technology. The influence of multimedia can see in every aspect of human life. Some important uses of multimedia are discussed below:

Multimedia is a complete tool to express our ideas and thoughts to someone in a better way. The major role of multimedia is a digital invention of equipment like cameras and high definition televisions, computers. Concerning the development of technology, we believe that in the future, the use of multimedia teaching will be further developed.
